Family Launches GoFundMe for Son After Idaho Murder-Suicide

Violeta Yeager, a 37-year-old nurse practitioner, was killed on October 20 in an apparent murder-suicide inside her home on North Christen Avenue in Meridian, Idaho. Boise Police Department officers discovered the bodies of both Violeta and her 39-year-old husband, Richard Yeager, after responding to a request for a welfare check regarding a possible domestic violence incident. The Ada County Coroner’s Office determined that Violeta died from multiple gunshot wounds to her chest and abdomen, and ruled Richard Yeager’s death a suicide.

The couple is survived by their young son, Ty. In the wake of the tragedy, Violeta’s sister, Kristin Jenson, has launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to support the boy as he faces a future without either of his parents.

Support for the Surviving Son

The fundraiser, which has been verified by GoFundMe, had raised more than $74,000 as of Wednesday. According to Jenson, the proceeds are intended to assist with funeral expenses, legal fees related to Ty’s custody, relocation costs, and counseling services. The funds are also designated for the child’s everyday necessities and his long-term well-being.

No amount of money can undo this tragedy or replace the parents Ty has lost, Jenson wrote. But with the support of our family, friends, and community, we hope to ease some of the financial burdens during this incredibly difficult time and ensure that Ty has every resource possible to move forward.

Family Facing Unimaginable Loss

Jenson expressed the profound grief felt by the family following the sudden loss of her sister. She emphasized that while the family is working to manage the challenges resulting from the event, their primary focus remains on the young boy.

Above all else, our hearts are with Ty, who deserves to feel safe, loved, and supported as he begins a new chapter of his life, Jenson stated. The family has shared photographs of Ty as they work to provide the stability and security he needs in the aftermath of the incident.
