Luka Dončić Has Fan Removed During Lakers Win Over Kings

Luka Dončić orchestrates removal of courtside fan during Lakers victory

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Dončić directed security to remove a spectator from a courtside seat at the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday night following an incident involving a game official. The incident occurred late in the third quarter of the Lakers’ 116-103 win over the Sacramento Kings, disrupting play as Dončić prepared to inbound the ball along the baseline.

Dončić halted the game to alert officials and arena security, pointing directly at a man sitting in a courtside seat. The spectator had caught the ball during the previous play and forcefully threw it back toward the official. The ball struck the official awkwardly, a move that clearly drew Dončić’s ire.

“What the f*** are you doing?” Dončić was seen asking the fan before beckoning for assistance. Following the game, Dončić explained his reaction to ESPN, stating, “He just tossed it really strong, the ball, toward the ref. I just asked him what the hell he’s doing.”

The officials paused the contest briefly to address the situation. Security personnel approached the man immediately and escorted him from the arena. The game resumed without further interruption, and it remains unclear whether the spectator offered any verbal response to Dončić during the exchange.

Lakers surge as Dončić continues scoring tear

The removal of the fan occurred while the Lakers were building momentum. After heading into halftime with a seven-point lead, Los Angeles surged in the second half to secure a 13-point victory. Dončić finished the night with 40 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, shooting 11 of 23 from the field.

This performance marks the fifth time in his last six outings that Dončić has scored at least 40 points, a stretch that includes a 52-point night late last month. Austin Reaves contributed 21 points to the winning effort, while Walker Kessler added 15 points and eight rebounds. The Lakers now hold a 7-2 record on the season as they look toward Friday’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Kings struggle as home court advantage falters

On the opposing side, the Sacramento Kings faced a difficult night, falling to 1-7 overall and 0-3 at home. Darius Acuff led the Kings with 22 points and 12 assists. Zach LaVine added 21 points, and Domantas Sabonis recorded 16 points and 17 rebounds.

As the Lakers move forward with their current winning record, the team’s focus returns to the schedule, with their next game slated for Friday.
