Minnesota Midterm Polls Open for Final Day of Voting
Minnesotans have cast nearly 870,000 ballots ahead of Election Day as polls open across the state from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 3, 2026, for the final day of voting in the midterm elections. Voters seeking specific polling place details and local precinct information can visit iwillvote.com to verify their registration status and find their designated voting location.
State law provides strong protections designed to keep elections accessible and secure. Under Minnesota guidelines detailed on the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State portal, eligible participants possess the right to take time off work without losing pay, personal leave, or vacation time. Anyone standing in line by 8:00 p.m. retains the legal right to cast a ballot.
The state also permits same-day voter registration, oral sign-ins, and assistance for those who need help marking a ballot. Voters may bring children into the booths, utilize sample ballots, request replacement ballots, and bring a copy of the Voter’s Bill of Rights directly into the voting enclosure. These provisions apply to eligible citizens who are not currently incarcerated and those under guardianship.
“Every vote is an opportunity to repudiate Donald Trump’s corruption, fear, and high costs. Everything Minnesotans built over the past year leads to this moment,” said DFL Party Chair Richard Carlbom. “We can trust our elections because we trust the people running them. Minnesota votes are counted by local election officials and volunteers giving back to our democracy. They make our elections work. Your vote is safe and secure because your vote is being counted by your neighbors.”
Local election officials and neighborhood volunteers continue managing precinct operations through the close of polls at 8:00 p.m., after which tabulation of both early votes and Election Day paper ballots will commence across Minnesota’s counties.
