Santa Fe County Sets Special Meeting on Short-Term Rentals and Land Development
Santa Fe County reported that the Board of County Commissioners will convene a special meeting on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. to review sweeping updates to local housing and growth rules. The session takes place in the second-floor Commission Chambers at 102 Grant Ave., Santa Fe, NM 87501, with a hybrid format allowing public access.
The agenda centers on two major presentations from the county’s Growth Management Department. Michael Vos will present proposed amendments concerning short-term rentals and business licensing regulations. Following that presentation, Alexandra Ladd will outline proposed updates to the Sustainable Land Development Code.
Sustainable Land Development Code Overhaul
The proposed land code amendments cover several high-stakes local policy issues. The changes address accessory dwelling units, traffic impact analyses, and night sky protections. They also introduce a data center moratorium alongside various other updates and clarifications.
Santa Fe County structured the session to run until 5:00 p.m. The county operates this meeting as a hybrid event, providing virtual access through Teams, Diligent Community, YouTube, and Facebook. Members of the public can find virtual connection instructions on the official Santa Fe County meeting page.
