The updated eyewear is available for preorder and scheduled to hit store shelves on October 17th, with a starting price of $299.

Built on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 platform, the new glasses come in various new color options like matte jeans and caramel, alongside multiple lens choices. In addition to the classic Wayfarer design, Meta and Ray-Ban collaborated on a rounder style known as Headliner.

Audio Upgrades and Five-Microphone System

The wearable’s primary hardware functions focus heavily on personal audio replacement. The device integrates a personal audio system similar to Amazon’s Echo Frames and the Bose Tempo series, designed so that only the wearer hears played music.

To fix problems from previous iterations—where the single microphone struggled in loud or windy conditions—the new generation packs five microphones. This setup includes a dedicated mic positioned in the nose bridge to ensure voice commands and phone calls remain sharp and clear.

Camera Capabilities and Internal Storage Limits

On the visual front, small camera lenses sit on each right temple. These capture 12-megapixel photos and 1080p videos, marking a substantial jump in quality from older hardware.

How to Force Restart Your Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses

Users can hold approximately 500 photos and 100 thirty-second videos—which is the maximum recording length permitted by the hardware—before exhausting the 32GB of internal storage. All captured media transfers via the Meta View app, which links directly to Meta’s sharing ecosystems.

Livestreaming Features and Creator Positioning

Beyond standard recording, the glasses allow users to stream live video directly to Facebook or Instagram using a few taps on the stem. A white light pulses around the lens whenever recording is active to signal capture.

This capability arrives as Meta positions the hardware toward creators engaged in two-handed activities like cooking or playing drums, shifting focus away from previous messaging pitches.
