Baltimore Ravens Start Banged-Up Joe Fagnano Against Jaguars Amid Roster Shifts
On Thursday night, the Baltimore Ravens face a compressed schedule and a reshuffled roster as banged-up Joe Fagnano prepares to start against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fagnano took a low hit to his legs from Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver during Sunday’s loss in Buffalo, leaving him hobbling before he managed to finish the game.
The short week places intense strain on an already disrupted quarterback room in Baltimore. Last week, Jackson, Huntley, and Fagnano were the Ravens’ quarterbacks on the practice field. This week, the trio consists of Fagnano, newly acquired Kedon Slovis, and practice squad returnee Austin Reed.
Roster Adjustments and Practice Modifications
To shore up the position, the Ravens plucked Slovis off the Green Bay Packers practice squad. Slovis logged a strong preseason with the Arizona Cardinals and shares familiarity with Ravens Quarterbacks Coach Israel Woolfork, who coached him last season in Arizona. Meanwhile, Reed spent part of training camp and the preseason in Baltimore before re-signing to the practice squad on Monday.

Beyond the quarterback room, injuries continue to test depth. Safety Jaylinn Hawkins missed practice with a knee injury, having not practiced since October 21. Kicker Tyler Loop was moved to injured reserve due to a right groin injury, prompting the team to tap Jake Moody from the practice squad to handle kicking duties against Jacksonville. Veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell also received another designated rest day.
Up front, three key contributors remained limited participants in practice over the two-day installation: starting right guard Roger Rosengarten with an ankle issue, starting left guard John Simpson dealing with a back injury, and nose tackle John Jenkins managing a knee concern.

Jacksonville Backfield Uncertainty
Across the field, the Jaguars face their own health questions as they head into Thursday night’s matchup. Leading running back Bhayshul Tuten, who currently holds the 15th-most rushing yards in the NFL this season with 492, missed practice again Tuesday with a foot injury, casting serious doubt on his availability.
The game kicks off on Thursday night, bringing immediate pressure on Fagnano and the newly configured Baltimore lineup to execute under a truncated preparation window.
