The Expanse Returns With a Little Death
Syfy and Prime Video’s hit series The Expanse may have ended back in 2022, but the franchise is ready to return for an exciting new adventure. A new miniseries, The Expanse: A Little Death, will be released later this month. BOOM! Studios has confirmed a new collected edition of the project will go on sale on November 11, marking a “deadly new conspiracy” in the franchise. The story comes from Wes Chatham, who portrayed Amos Burton in all six seasons of the show. This narrative marks Chatham’s comic-writing debut, joined by Dragon Tooth‘s Andy Diggle and Francesco Pisa in what is described as a “gripping new chapter” in the realm of The Expanse. The trade paperback releasing later this month collects all four issues of the miniseries which were individually released back in 2025.
Following the Fallout After Season 6
A Little Death isn’t The Expanse‘s first foray into comics, following a twelve-issue series titled The Expanse: Dragon Tooth that also takes place after Season 6 of the television show. The new miniseries follows the fallout of its predecessor, seeing the crew plunged into an all-new high-stakes conspiracy when one of Amos Burton’s old acquaintances comes to him seeking help. The miniseries is set in the same thirty-year period between Babylon’s Ashes (Book 6) and Persepolis Rising (Book 7) of the novel series by James S.A. Corey. In each of the four comics, the Rocinate crew faces new challenges that push Amos Burton to the absolute limit.
Amos Burton isn’t one to give up. And for one orphan refugee, he’s about to put everything on the line to protect them — even if it means going head-to-head with the brutal crime lord of Auberon. Meanwhile, as vast corporate powers wrestle for control of a planet that may be the key to humanity’s future, only one man can stop them triggering all-out war — Captain James Holden.
BOOM! Studios’ solicit for the second issue outlines those exact stakes. The upcoming trade paperback marks the first time the miniseries has been collected into one comprehensive volume, making it the perfect jumping-on point for fans of the series who may have missed it when the story was first published individually last year.

The Definitive Omnibus Following in December
For readers looking for a more comprehensive deep dive into the world of The Expanse‘s comic offerings, The Expanse Omnibus is set to go on sale on December 15 from BOOM! Studios. The publisher calls it the “definitive collection”, offering an incredible number of comics all in one 500+ page paperback edition. The omnibus officially collects The Expanse #1–4 as well as The Expanse: Origins and The Expanse: Dragon Tooth in their entirety. It serves as a companion piece to A Little Death for fans wanting to experience all the stories without digging up several individual issues.
The television adaptation featured showrunners Naren Shankar, Mark Fergus, and Hawk Ostby, featuring a main cast that included Dominique Tipper as Naomi Nagata alongside Chatham’s Amos. While the television run concluded on Prime Video, the literary and comic continuations continue to map out the narrative.
