Hannah Fry was banished on BBC One’s Celebrity Traitors after receiving votes from fellow contestants, while King Kenny was recruited to replace her. During the same episode, Rob Beckett was murdered during a hide-and-seek game, and contestants completed a gold-gathering mission amid a menacing parade of hooded figures.
The latest episode of the BBC One show brought mounting tension as mathematician Hannah Fry faced the roundtable. The 42-year-old gathered votes from a majority of the cast, including her fellow traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster. Following her banishment, Fry reflected on her exit during a confessional.
I came in here with absolutely one job and one job only on my mind, which was to catch traitors.
King Kenny Joins the Traitors as Rob Beckett is Murdered
Facing a depleted roster, TV host Jama and comedian Acaster turned their attention to recruitment. They chose to seduce YouTuber and boxer Kenny Oghenovo Ojuederie—known as King Kenny—into taking Fry’s spot. The 29-year-old accepted the offer but immediately sought assurances from his new partners.
Guys, just don’t do me dirty. Let’s try playing clean game where all three of us get to the final.
Six Contestants Sacrifice Themselves During Gold Challenge
During the episode’s main challenge, contestants scrambled to open a series of gates and push a growing pile of gold toward host Claudia Winkleman. The group faced a psychological hurdle as they were tracked by a marching army of hooded figures known as the death parade
, designed to trap players in a cage until the next roundtable.
To let the rest of the group finish, all three traitors—Jama, Fry, and Acaster—alongside faithfuls Ranganathan, Jerry Hall, and Joanne McNally, sacrificed themselves by getting locked away. That move allowed the remaining celebrities to complete the challenge and add £8,000 to the prize pot.
Off-screen, the mystery around the show’s mechanics has deepened in Manchester, where a BBC mural tracking banishments and recruitments features a curious counter for betrayals
. That counter unexpectedly doubled from 14 to 28 following the latest broadcast, sparking fan theories across Reddit and social media regarding unrevealed secret roles or hidden gameplay mechanics.
