Police Scotland Investigates Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Epstein Over Balmoral Visits
Police Scotland has confirmed it is carrying out active inquiries into the activities of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Jeffrey Epstein, and Ghislaine Maxwell during their stays at Balmoral Castle. The investigation relates to allegations that women were trafficked to the royal residence in Aberdeenshire.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated that the inquiries are currently at a very early stage and that all investigations are evidence-led, with the needs of victim-survivors at the center of the process. Representatives for Mountbatten-Windsor have been contacted for comment.
Flight Logs and Historical Visits to the Royal Estate
The inquiry follows reports detailing Epstein and Maxwell’s presence at the Scottish estate. US prosecutors previously released an image showing the late financier and Maxwell at Balmoral, believed to have been taken in 1999 after Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly invited the pair to stay. Epstein and Maxwell were reportedly regular guests at royal residences in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Flight logs indicate that Mountbatten-Windsor and Maxwell flew from Luton to Edinburgh on Epstein’s private jet alongside two other passengers on September 1, 2006. Documents released last year as part of the US Department of Justice Epstein Files included an August 2001 email sent by someone referred to as ‘A’ to Maxwell, mentioning a stay at Balmoral and asking for new friends.
Ongoing Legal Scrutiny
Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any wrongdoing linked to his association with Epstein. The latest police inquiries in Scotland run parallel to other legal developments involving Mountbatten-Windsor, who was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office following information that emerged from the US Epstein files, before being released.

Police Scotland previously stated in February that officers wanted to speak to anyone with information regarding Epstein’s private jet using Edinburgh Airport, though no formal reports or complaints had been received at that time regarding that specific trip. Authorities have not commented further on the ongoing Balmoral inquiries.
