Global submissions open for the eighth edition of the Youth 4 Water-focused Youth Solutions initiative, inviting innovators aged 18 to 35 to present water-security projects ahead of the United Nations Water Conference 2026 in Abu Dhabi.
The Arab Youth Center has opened worldwide registration for the eighth installment of its Youth Solutions initiative, targeting fresh approaches to global water challenges. Organizers are accepting proposals from international participants until Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
This year’s competition centers entirely on the water sector, seeking scalable ventures from startup founders, development teams, and independent innovators who hold clear blueprints for new products. Eligible fields encompass water security, agricultural and food applications, industrial infrastructure, and community systems, including modern tools powered by artificial intelligence, data analytics, and advanced hardware.

Global Preparation for the United Nations Water Conference 2026 in Abu Dhabi
The initiative ties directly into broader international mobilization led by the United Arab Emirates as preparations reach their final stages for the United Nations Water Conference 2026. High-level delegations recently wrapped up intensive engagements during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where officials gathered state leaders, investors, humanitarians, and researchers to build political momentum around water security.
State delegations have spent the past two years consulting with member states to elevate water as a core strategic priority. Discussions have focused on securing political backing, closing investment gaps, and expanding the deployment of technology. Senior officials noted that the central hurdle is no longer inventing functional technologies, but scaling existing solutions globally through financing mechanisms that extend far beyond government budgets alone.
Training, Acceleration, and the Road to the Final Six
Participants accepted into the eighth cycle will undergo a three-week virtual training program combining mentorship, project development, and investment readiness. During the final week, an intensive business acceleration phase will focus on the top 20 participating startups. These leading teams will pitch virtually to a specialized judging panel.
Ultimately, six teams will secure places in the finals, earning the opportunity to present their projects live during the United Nations Water Conference 2026. The final evaluation panel will include strategic partners, water-sector leaders, investors, and government representatives.

Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth and Deputy Chairman of the Arab Youth Center, said, “As the UAE hosts the UN Water Conference 2026 in partnership with the Republic of Senegal, we look forward to expanding youth participation in international water cooperation and strengthening partnerships that help turn their innovations into actionable solutions. We aspire for this edition to lay the groundwork for cooperation that extends beyond the conference, connecting innovators with institutions and investors capable of adopting their projects and scaling their developmental impact.”
The competition welcomes projects ranging from early planning stages to active launch and growth phases. By opening participation worldwide, organizers intend to capture diverse regional innovations and connect young entrepreneurs with institutional networks capable of expanding their developmental impact long after the conference concludes.
